I've seen this custom/rod Tempest show up on egay a few times and was just wondering if anybody had any history/info on it.

    Thanks.

That car is here in the Boise, Idaho area. I've seen it on the road 3 or 4 times, but could never get a good look. It was on the local Craigslist a couple weeks ago for $9100.

I think it was originally from the So Cal area.

Is this a true "one-off" body or a fiberglass deal?

It is steel. I bought it from Idaho. It is now parked in front of the shop, Moreland Choppers in Solana Beach, CA if you want to cruise down from Carlsbad and check it out. I talked to the man in Florida that sold it to the guy in Idaho. If I remember right, he had originally bought the car from a gentleman in Monrovia, CA and I believe that is where it was originally built. It is a wild car to say the least.

Wow, that car is getting around -

I'm fairly certain that is the same one (how many can there be?) built by a guy I know here in the Bay Area - Marty of the Last Originals. That is a real steel Tempest body with a lot cut out of it, and put on custom framerails, IIRC.

I think you are right. The previous owner in Florida said something about the Bay Area was where he got it, but then he also mentioned Monrovia, CA. Maybe it came down from the Bay Area and then he got it there. Who knows?

  10. I saw it once at the Cow Palace in January of 2008.

If I remember right, there were a few more pics in an other thread about it.

EDIT -- Here are my pics frm the Cow Palace...

So I know it’s many years later but I just found the body and bought it! Wish I could find more info! Anyone?
