Since we seem to be on a picture/photshop request rampage lately, I thought I'd throw in a request for 63-65 Rivis. (from earlier this week) Snacky's sweet 65 is a nice start

I'm still looking for pics of Jimmie Vaughn's 63's trunk...

I have craploads of Rivi pics, but mostly stock ones...
I'll find a couple and toss them up for the 'choppers to mess with...

I found a picture of Vaughn's trunk. I'll scan the picture when I get to work,
and post it for you tomorrow morning.

Here is the picture of the trunk. I had to reduce the picture down to get it to post correctly.
If you need a bigger version let me know and I'll Email it to you.

    Happy Trails,

    Mick

Thanks guys! Nothing has to be photoshopped, but I was looking for customs, especially cool paint jobs... photoshopped or on existing cars.

Snacky, how did you lower your Riv? How does it ride?

    Hellfish...

My car was lowered by the previous owner...
he just cut the front coils and heated the rears...
it also has air shocks in the rear to help level it out...
    It rides suprisingly well considering...

For now I am going to install 4" dropped springs all the way around...
www.coilsprings.com ...they were only $314 shipped...
I'll be posting pics after I swap them out...

One day I will afford airbags...

That's nice, but the paint's way too subtle. They gotta have something that grabs you by the eyeballs and says "LOOK AT ME!" [IMG]

  17. Dad had a box on his shelf marked "$20" in black marker with a Buick logo on it for years...

I finally asked what it was one day.. "open it" he says..

Two 1965' Rivi Headlight guards he got at a Yard Sale 20+ years ago NEW for $20 (thus the marker)

    Ebay? $400 in 3 days !

He got his new DVD player instead..

but the riv isn't a "HEY! look at me!" car. its an understated personal luxurey car. IMHO most of the custom rivs are worse than stockers. its just WRONG to fuck with the parking lights for example.

I really like the one i posted. The only thing these cars need to look better than they came from the foctory is to be lowered, and a good set of wheels. Not many cars are like that. There was another one...slammed, astro supremes, with some crazy ass paint. Purple/blue-ish base with flames, scallops, just crazy paint. The top was white, but got painted the blue color at some point. Anyone got some pictures of it??

I hate the way the doors are assembled though, would it really have been THAT hard to just some access holes inside the door??? PITA!!!!

This one? Made a huge stink when it was a cover car of RnC. I thought it was awe inspiring.

Thats the one. Locos Banditos or something? That one and the t-bird....both beautiful cars, love the paint jobs. People thought they were lowriders. They are just flat out cool.

yeah it was mine! that was my mid 90's ride. i got a little carried away on the hydros on the way to being a custom...

    first this: [IMG]

    then this:[IMG]

it was pretty rusty, worse than it first looked, once i stripped the paint and mud off. the custom bodywork was to be the end of silly motions.

When I was livivng in Colo Springs, I had a '65 Riv. It looked good with just a set of 14 inch Tru-Rays. I loved that car. I ripped that car apart and detailed every last inch of her......

..My first wife really appreciated it when I plopped the radiator on the kitchen table and straightened every last cooling fin.

You could just stick a set of nice wheels on those Rivi's and still be the coolest kat on the block.....they don't need much.

Lo-n-slow- From what I understand,,,a guy by the name of Dino owned the car who is also one hell of a badass painter!! The car appaired in R&C w/the silver flaked roof and the Loco Bandito logo on the top,,in wich a short time after the roof was repainted cause the car sold. The guy I bought my Riv off of apparently purchased the car in wich ended up on E-Bay and I haven't seen it since. Has anybody else??

Hellfish...back in the early eighties.........there was Tru-Spokes, then came Tru-Classics...... and Tru-Rays followed. Tru-Rays were a radial laced version of these....(the spokes were evenly spaced and straight)

    pictured is a Tru-Classic
