Might be in her future. Bob has taken a liking to her, and his wife and my wife are somehow distantly related (Don't ask me how, Bob and I are still trying figure the whole thing out!)so maybe Claire might be handling the Rocket in the future. :)

Another great day at the show!

Get her started in jr dragsters, she has to be 8 to drive. My daughter is only 4 but we have a chasis picked out she always tells me " daddy I want a pink racecar, I think you should paint ur racecar pink."!! She has a picture of Ashley Force hanging on the wall in her bedroom for motivation.

Interesting. At her age, I've been told to just hold out for the few years, save the jr. drag funds and buy here a starter putt-putt ride. I always thought the right way would be to just put a very mild 289 in the car, maybe a fourteen second ride, then slowly progress up. Talked to a few dads who said they spent alot of money going the jr. way. I already have a car, why not use it more??...

We'll see. All up to her...

I hear ya man!! I built Bella's first Slingshot for her 3rd birthday and I can't keep her out of them, the only problem is she's getting so big she can't fit it anymorre, gonna have to make the loop taller, gonna make a kool wall hanger for the shop later. The kids at all the car shows love it!!!!

Dale;the Jrs are OK but when you watch the parents it is like going to a youth socker game,it gets to be more about the parents and who has the most money!! I know one local team that takes TWO motorhomes[mom, dad, two kids and a dust mop dog] and a HUGE trailer just to take the kid to the races!!!!They can't all turn out like Erica Enders,Richie Stevens, etc.!! You are dead on Roy. Up here on a weekend when the junior dragsters run it looks like a motorhome/enclosed trailer show. I mean diesel pushers with trailers that are huge! Totally insane!

That is really cool Dale. I am a little late reponding because up here in WA we had a hell of a snowstorm with lots of damage. No internet for 10 days. It was driving me nuts. Have you been inside the engine yet to look at the goodies it was built with?

Only a tiny bit. I was approached with an idea from the Fastest Street Car Association to do a "before and after" story, since we will be racing the car, and they are trying to get a bigger West Coast presence. No one has ever really seen a built as new engine that was never run for its intended purpose. Kinda like an old school tech vs. new school tech. But you know me. I'll work the angle, and try to plug to get some of the few parts needed to run in the car.

Eddie! You need those aluminum rims I fixed up!!?? The Hillbilly Hellshack picked up a new wheel sponsor. I'll send a shop shirt to the first Comet pilot with the right answer!! And no- it won't be a dirty oily one either!!

Offered here is a 1965 Mercury Comet Villager wagon; 1 of 1593 made in 1965, with some records indicating that only 60 remain. Behold a product of the era that made boomers so...

WOW,that went cheap!!!! I have more than that in my wagon and will need WAAAAAY more to finish it!!!! The trim being painted does look a bit out of place, but that can be changed with some creative wood graining,I think the decal for the center is being reproduced, not positive though!! ROY.

The Colorado boys got some real snow this time. We got 5" a couple weeks ago, but for the most part it has been a mild winter. I'm ready for race season, I mean spring.

Merritt, that's no lie. 4 and 5 foot drifts, and 26 inches of snow. Bronken limbs on a few of the bigger pine trees as well.
To quote Mercuryjunkie, Why the F%&K do we live here, when the West Coast guys are racing?
