Nicely done, looks like they used a Deluxe 64 or 65 Falcon sedan delivery as a start seeing as how all 64 and 65 Comet wagons were four doors!! ROY.

No problem at all Dale. I thought that is what you needed. I just returned from a Super Shifters event in Woodburn Oregon and ran a new personal best 11.44 at 116 mph. Not bad for a tired Cleveland. I hope your new engine runs well and gets you those low 11's. Brian

Al,the Comet is looking real good! I'm thinking you want that machine tearing it up before snow hits these parts?

Thanks Al. Tired it is. The heads have not been off since the early 90's. Rings a bit earlier. The cylinder walls were so scuffed up I almost scraped the block. I decided to do a quick ball hone job just to race a couple more times. I never guessed 20 years later it would still be in the car! I did a compression/leakdown test and it is pretty dismal. A 393" stroker is in my future. Brian

Al;I got tired of the fight,so when I had my 9" modified for the big bearing ends I had an extra 1/2" taken off both sides.I liked the look better with the tires and wheels sitting like yours, but practicality prevailed!!! ROY.

I understand that....I figure they won't be on and off that often, so will keep a bullet in ash tray to bite when needed!! Al

I need to share a cool thing that happened to me today, totally MERCURY- RELATED !! While Roy and Brian have already caught wind of it, I wanted to let the Comet bretheren know that I let my '66 Cyclone go. Needed to do it, due to another new ride coming into the Hillbilly Hellshack domain. But what happened about the Cyclone sale still has me giddy. It's every builders dream.

The new owner is allowing me to build the Cyclone in the very vision I had for the car when I purchased it, a vintage -style street legal Trans-Am era car. Not too fussy, decent paint, a bit of lettering, but all business inside, ala Parnelli Jones Mustang.

While it will be a fun car, to drive and have fun, hopefully it will also be raced at vintage events and gatherings!

Derale Cooling (Tom Longo) are the owners, and I'd venture to say this car will be a SEMA-Worthy build, but not in the way of a show car.

This is something I've always dreamed of getting to, to be ""commissioned"" to build my vision, with a car I bought for this purpose !!!!!!!
