Dale;track was OK until all the ricers arrived!! We kept upping the stagging limiter started at 6000,ended at 6700,kept moving the shift points up,started at 6200 ended at 6900.Ran a .009,1.37,6.51 at 104,got a right front wheel doing a weird shimmy[couldn't be wheelstand related, could it],called it a night after the fourth pass!! We went to dinner at the Dennys on the corner of Grand and ?,C-YA. ROY.

Al;my 1/8 splits were back to average,as far as 1/8 to 1/4 comparisons hard to tell as the tracks are so different in prep, altitude, and overall usage.Irwindale gets A LOT of street tire cars, where Famoso [when I race there] gets drag slick running cars.My 1/8 splits at Famoso are usually better than Irwindale. Guys, I think the real problem with collectors coming off is on the rear engine dragsters. They just vibrate and tire shake so bad that stuff cracks and loosens up. We had one about ten years ago and we checked everything after two runs each weekend. Saw one come off last weekend at IRP during the burn-out. The slick ran over it and shot it out like a rocket. It rolled up and stopped at my right foot. I would bet the rule is aimed at them but they are applying it to everyone. We have a set on our door car that we bought from Trailer Toad. A little less money than the other guys. I feel your frustration!

fiend of mine from High school bought this when it was about 3 years old I think. Did the gasser thing to it in around 71, sold it and it spent a couple of years at the strip in Great Bend Ks and then he bought it back. These pictures are from 3 years ago. Paint job is about 43 years old now.

I attended FE Race Reunion this past week-end in BeaverSprings PA. Got to have great conversation with Mercury Junky and SOHC Eric, even a ride up pit road in Sox&Martin 64 Comet, made my day, plus got a video out the window. Anyone interested in FEs and vintage Ford vechiles should really consider attending this event next year. Look forward to T-Bolt dinner in June Ken, will talk more then......Al

  14. Finally got some dates for my next visit to Parker Colorado and Royal Oak Michigan. My wife's son-wife & grand-kids are in R.O. Michigan and my son & wife are in Berkley.

Hope I can meet Eric and Ken at Eric's place sometime around June 7 thru the 12th and I'll be in Michigan June 16 thru July 14.

Eric I'll PM you for a good date/time to meet up.

Then back to Parker and Avon Colorado (Beaver Creek) for a week long family reunion. (Plus a bit of Tequila and "some" wine). Then home to Oregon
When is the T-Bolt dinner and celebration?

    Movin/on

I have a question about comet bucket seats. what year seat frames will work? I have a set of 63 falcon buckets will they work with 65 comet seat foam and covers? Or do I need to get the falcon covers? thanks Mike

I commented on Bangshift about the lack of Comet pictures!!! Ken's and George's are just on the intro, there is a white 64 in the pictures, there were others there!!!At least they covered a FORD Show!! ROY.

Hey Roy and Everyone! Great shot of Ken, I think that was his 9.6? pass where he carried the wheels impressive! There were not as many 64-65s (comets) this year as was last year. The white 64' was nice and appeared to be mostly unrestored original 427 car I think. Hope Ken will chime in as I'm sure he talked to them. Not old racing here but I'll gamble!!!!

Not real sure on that question Mike, but I'm thinking No. Possibly 64 65 Falcon will match, I would call one of the seat cover suppliers they would know, or have someone make you covers to fit your seats that is 65 style. I had mine done like that and wasn't really any more $......Al

This was my Elimination Race, This T-Bolt won the event last year and this year in Hot FE, Found out later he is also the reigning champ in NMCA. Needless to say he is good. Did teach me some things on this run that I will change if we meet up again. Lost to his 10.02 on a 10.0 dial I ran a 9.93 on my 9.90 dial.
