Like Dale said, you basically are on your own when it comes to patch panels for Comets. If it needs a quater or a fender or door you need to find a donor car.A 2dr 64 or 65 Falcon or Comet are the same doors.I have a door from a 64 Ranchero on my 65 wagon, but front fenders and quarters are year and brand specific.PM me if you want,I have been working on 64-65 Comets and Falcons for over 40 years. As Roy mentioned there is no one that I have heard about making patch panels for a comet other than floor panels. here's what I started with and had to make mine from scratch with a little help from my friends. took a little tweaking and such but a donor car was hard to locate.

Hey Roy and Ken, still working as fast as I can. got it on 4 wheels and made a trip up the driveway and back. there is light at the end of the tunnel.

as stated i looked forever for patch panels , or parts cars with no luck. i would love to find some stamping dies for these hahaha.

i ended up using front fenders and cuting and piecing together to get the look i wanted, the nice thing was i could strech the opening to fit the hurst slicks i wanna run, george.

Roy thanks, i couldnt believe the drastic change the clip made just by moching it up i am so excited to get this thing rolling. should have the flip nose glassed together this weekend and will post more pics sunday. george

Thanks for all the replys. The Comet I am getting is from a friend who just passed away. The repairs wouldn't be near the problem if he were alive as he was one of the best body men around here before retiring for health reasons and had already talked about repairing some places on my Falcon, "we'll go over to (a friends body shop) and get us an old hood and make some panels".

    Such is life.

Ken;STRANGE sounds!!! Do you think it may have been reverberating off the building? Was that the original or the rebuilt one?Have you had any time to work on your 65?I'm headed to Sacrament Raceway for the All Ford Show on May 16th,I hope to have my new trailer mostly completed by then. Roy, yes that front end(part holding the fenders is going to tilt, the radiator support will stay stationary, i wanted it to hold in case of a hard drop.

i will post more clear photos of the tilt right b4 i glass it all together hopefully this weekend, yes i will take tons of pics looks like milan is getting some good response. i have not went to that website yet, but will today thanks.

thanks, yes the motor is together we stuffed it full of hemi rods and kieth black pistons used the kit from performance automotive wholesale(paw) its their stroker 496 dinosaur kit but we changed a few things opened the intake and exhaust ports up also to match the intake manifold and 2 inch headers hehehe. i will post pics of the motor now that its ford blue. is that the correct color, for something like this, ya think?

i just got done cutting the 400 turbo trans bell housing off to install the ultra bell, we did a full reverse manual valve body and trans brake (though i dont know if i'll use the brake much? i never have before on my builds so i am not too experienced with them:eek::confused: whats your opions on trans brakes?,

    thanks, george

George that old 460 should run!!! Mercurys had black engines in the 60s,with either gold or yellow valve covers and air cleaners! I've always painted mine the dark Ford blue,I think whatever works for you is right! I ran 460s in boats for years, wish they would have had all the cool parts available back then, but I still made them run hard. I ran a trans braked C-4 for a few races, they work good but you need to get used to their quirks. My buddy switched from a C-6 to a TH400 and his car picked up a bunch plus it lives.ROY.
