Roy I'll call you on the clutch fun.Suspension working better.I was so nervous about aborting the run due to the clutch I drove right through the staging lights like I was on a parade lap or something[ I was just doing the HURST parade ] Wasnt quite ready for the lift I couldnt find second gear.I'm so close to breaking the 10.0 mark.More seat time.

Steve The Sniper putting a fellow A/FX Comet on the trailer. Not the way you suppose to treat the fellow members of the Mercury Drag Team. The smokey blown up engine part I'll have to explain later.I was trying to distact steve for the win.Didnt work ,Ice in his veins

Ken;I just thought you were doing your best to control the mosquitos!!!WOW,your Comet leaves nice and looks great going down track!!!Fast Eddie said you were having issues with the pan-evac pulling oil, that is one reason I switched to a vacumn pump.It looks like Steve needs to work on his lights!GREAT video of your two BADASSED Comets getting it on!!!! More seat time would really help, too bad work and money get in the way!ROY.

I wanted to meet Phil but when I was trying on Saturday, he was head back...zonked out asleep. I did meet Hubert Platt though...that was very neat.

Does anyone know if the roll cage in a 1964 B/FX Comet is different than the roll cage in a 1964 A/FX Comet? Please post pictures of both,Thanks.

Most of them,A or B,didn't come with a rollbar, most guys built there own.The rules were pretty loose back then, alot of them just did a hoop that curved over the driver and down to the passanger floor with a bar going back from the top,and maybe a bar on the drivers side going from the main upright to the front floor. The 1964 B/FX Comet from HNL was built at Bill Stroppes. When it arrived in HNL,the cage was already installed.Did Stroppe prepare all of the 1964 FXers?Anybody got any pictures they can post of the roll cage? Thanks,Dog.

    Hey Guys,

I have followed this thread since day one and decided to sign up and join the fun. We currently have 5 Comets in our family although none are dedicated drag cars. I do have a 65 hardtop that has a straight axle with plans for a FE and toploader. I was planning to use a small block I have but got a pretty good deal on some FE stuff the other day and decided to change directions.

I took some pics of Kens car at BG so I will start out posting these. I will try to post some of our junk if you guys are interested.

Dog;there are quite a few pictures in this thread that show factory cars with NO rollbar,64 and 65 versions. There is a good shot of the hoop I described in Eddie Schartmans 65,I think it was page 7,post #122. ROY.

Thanks Roy, The blue 65 is the one my son drives to school. We bought it from the original owner. It is pretty much stock(289 C4). The yellow car belongs to my Dad. It's a 351w-c4. I dont have any decent pics of my 65 straight axle car right now. Its in the deep project stage and is not much to look at right now anyway.
