    Thanks Jody and Roger.

Wish I was going out to the Sema show and set up next to Dale.Show everyone that MERCURY is alive and well.

Not sure whats next? Either the Marauder or a Straight axle Comet, But most likely I'm going to put all the efforts in a Thunderbolt Tribute Dad And I are doing together.Trying to get it done before the 50th. Going to try and get the whole Colorado Gang to travel to that one.

Ken;get busy on that T-Bolt,you only have three+ years!!!! The 40th was one of the highlights of my Car Crazy years, especially the Carlyle Show in PA.!!!! I could not believe it when they had Scrappy and I put our Comets front and center in the tent with all the T-Bolts and T-Bolt tribute cars!!!! ROY.

Ken;Todd is a bit pissed at me right now,I hope he gets over it!! I have seen his Comet,he rubbed out the paint and had the lettering done "OLD SCHOOL",painted on!!I don't know if his engine is done yet,he was having some injection issues the last time we spoke. He sold his T-bolt clone so this became the new race car.Did you notice the Dyno Don sticker?! The MM should be a gas,Dale said he will have the "Rocket"there,I'll be there and I think my friend Tim will have his 64 Comet[C/G that crashed at this years MM] done by then. ROY.

    Ken,
I warned you about Eddies issues, with Cammers. Theft, mass imagination, fantasy, addiction, mass masturbation, and more.

I remember him asking me, if I kick the bucket, can he have my Cammer...... WTF Eddie???

Here's a few pics from the Fairlane meet here in Dearborn a few years back. The most T-bolts I've ever seen in one meet.Don't know how these Comets snuck in.I wanted to take alot more shots,it was a blazing hot day and the camera wasn't playing nice....

When it comes to Cammers Its not safe to have Fast Eddie around. I caught him in the garage once,I'm not sure what he was doing but I'm glad my Cammer was double wrapped.

That A/fx Comet was once owned by Jim Amos Bee on Video. I believe it is up in Ohio now. I think it was #11 out of the 20 Calientes. I would give up both my Comets to own it now.I got to meet George Weiller at the York show this year.Cool guy Signed my dash

I think Jim Amos raced a '65 on an episode of "Pinks" a while back. Maybe before they put the Fermier Bros. '62 Galaxie back togather. Don't know what happened to that '65, though. I could be mistaken.

ClearSpot, the early Comets,65 and earlier, are welcome at the Fairlane Meets but are not a judged class, only the 66 up Comets that share the Fairlane chassis are judged.I was at the Dearborn show last year,I rode out with Jack Hazlegren. He brought his restored T-Bolt and a tribute to Emmit-Snake-Austin's black, altered wheelbase cammer powered bolt. Roger;thanks for posting the pictures of Dale's Comet, that sucker looks good!!As Muttley posted, the March Meet is at Famoso Raceway, just North of Bakersfield,CA..I've been going to the MM for waaaaay too many years,it is a great race, full fields from Fuel Dragsters on down to us low life Hot Rod class cars.Usually has a huge car show and swap meet. Cobrajet2,John sold the Whistler last year after the CHRR.Those pictures are from Rick Kirk's in Oklahoma, that is where the new owners picked it up.That was the third 65 Comet John has built and sold, that sucker ran hard!! ROY.

Eddie, glad your feeling better, Is the Ex trying to off you?? Lets see some of the straight axle work on the wagon!!! I bet a Cammer would look pretty nice in that ride, as well.

And just so you know, there is a set of Factory Cammer valve covers within reach of me, above the pics of your Falcon. HA HA

    Roy,

the comet is a nice piece. I am not useD to starting with something this nice. When i pulled the windows out, i was supprised to see the original paint under there with no rust.
The right rear floorpan has been replaced, but the rest of the floorpan is nice with most of it having the original paint also.
I will post shots as i go and i hope to have it going by next spring.

Just rolled in from the week long grind of SEMA 2010. Wow! If there is a dip in the economy, it did not show there!!! Had ALOT of people swing by and talk with me about the Comet. It seemed to be welcomed by quite a few, and was indeed one of only a handful to be driven in, and driven out of the show, under its own power!!! Jack Chrismans son, Steve, came over for a bit, and hung out with me, checking out the car and telling me alot of cool old stories about the family Comets!!

    Wild stuff....

I killed the car, out on the main drag in front of the convention center. All the idling ,and the enormous amount of time starting and stopping was a great overheating test for the car, but not the fuel system. It ran out just as I got onto the main drag to make the time honored drive by down the front of the convention center. Johnny law got behind me right quick, and a horad of people all came over and stopped traffic on the main drag while we all pushed the car over to the parking lot. Hey, at least it was a great attempt !!!!:D

Yeah, the industry appears to be headed back, along with the aftermarket guys. And just yesterday,I watched our stock at the blue oval hit 16clams! We will survive!

    Donnie,

Nice looking Comet. And welcome from Colorado. Seems our user names are pretty close, so hope guys don't get to confused, as I am in the market to start a Cyclone project, as soon as the Galaxie, is buttoned up. SOHC powered, of course, with Earl Wade's help. and knowledge.

Give us some more on your projects plans!

    Eric
