I'm wondering if anyone can confirm if ALL 64-66 cabs are all the same regardless of whether it is a C10, C20, C30, etc? The reason I ask is because mice made a nest years ago in the cowl air plenum on the passenger side and their piss rusted and rotted through this area and on down to the floor vent. I found a bare cab in a wrecker but it has "running boards" so I'm thinking it's from a heavier truck like maybe a C30 or bigger? Other wise the cab looks the same as mine but I don't want to have this piece cut out unless I know for sure it will fit my C10. Should this area be the same regardless of the different cabs? Thanks.
C-10 through C-30's are the same, it it has running boards its a C-50 or bigger and the cabs don't interchange due to the fact that the floors are different. But if you are just going.to cut that piece out of it, I believe that part is the same.
The big trucks have a flat trans cover. I am sure I converted one when I spent 10 years redoing 60-66 trucks for other people. There will, or should be, a lower firewall-to-trans hump, adapter piece that is spot welded in. Then the 10-30 bolt-on hump bolts to that. So, you drill out that welded piece on the big cab, and use an adapter piece from 60-to 63 10-30 low hump or tall hump trans cover,, Or the 4sp adapter all the way to 66 then that 10-30 adapter can then use a 60-63 "low hump" for 3 sp or A/T, or it will also fit the tall 10-30 big hump for 4sp. The adapter piece is different between low hump and tall 4sp hump. get both from the same type of floor you want. The unboltable low humps were 60-63 for sure, and depending on which plant it was made, maybe 64, I thought.
