64 chev with 283

just installed a temp gauge for the first time and was concerned as to the temp it should be runnin at. I look for awhile on the net and after goin' here and there with no success you guys proved this is the site for me!!! btw 180 200 was what the ole girl was runnin' at!!!! just cannot say enough good things 'bout this car!!!!just back from a trip of over 1000 miles ya miles... only thing she used was gas!!!! anyone thought of puttin a 6 speed ****** to the ole girl to save on gas??? I surely can't be the first to think of this????

 

In Canada they use a 7-speed to keep the temps at 165 degrees in 64 Chevys!
