    Hello Hambers,

The clutch on my comet is letting up quite high on the pedal. The Z bar adjustment is as far away from the firewall as it can go. The pedal is coming back the full way (usually)
The clutch shows no signs of slippage ever, do I have a bent fork? (found an extra one in the trunk)
Or do I have the bent Z bar? Car is completely stock with a 144 Inline 6.

How do I straighten the Z bar or bend it to allow more clutch movement? Its not usually notchy, and the clutch is engaging and releasing all the way.

I wouldn't bend the Z-bar as an adjustment method.
You can get an adjustable clutch rod (the one between the Z-bar and the fork).
Before doing anything, make sure your Z-bar bushings aren't worn out or completely missing.

I like this idea of adjustable clutch rod

  4. If you're out of clutch adjustment, you may a clutch near the end of it's service life...
