So what Your saying is You dont need a tunnel ram or a highrise. You can use a low rise manifold and just add some tall velocity stacks and have the same thing?
air flow is airflow. Manifold plenum area is WAY different than stack area.
    Just sayin FED

What you say is true. What I was trying to point out is that irregardless of the manifold or length of the stacks/risers whatever if the flow is limited by the size of the carburetors the flow will still be limited in the same way as NASCAR does with their "restrictor plates". Length of runners and size of plenum will alter flow, but if the carburetors will only flow 500cfm it really doesn't help that much if the engine needs 1200cfm.

    Looks cool!

There isn't much of an update on the car. Like stated before, Andy is in the Airforce and when I have time to work on cars, I am working on my dad's model A coupe the "Freakin A."

However, Andy did manage to get the carburetors all rebuilt. The guy who built them set them up for us so they should be in the ball park. He also has a torque converter now.

Our friend Phil, who is the old S/S racer is working on the engine. Andy scored a Vertex magneto for a wedge. Once the engine is finished, we will drop it in and I can build linkage for it. The car is all pretty much ready to go less wiring and a motor, so once we have those few things taken car of, it's at least a racer. When he comes back from the service, that will be the time to change out the reared. A friend and club member has a stock width 8 3/4 that we would like to replace the Dana with. The rear suspension and ladders bars are all bolted in, so altering the wheelbase is almost just a matter of unbolting everything, and redrilling the holes 2-3 inches forward.

Andy also found an old magazine listing of this car for sale from '93. It wasn't lowered yet and looks pretty tough.

Yep the first max wedge builds had 4 bolts. I have a set of heads waiting for the correct car/engine build. Funny I have the same valve covers. I like your 64 Dodge. My fav is the 63 Plymouth.

That car is gorgeous ! Im curious about the flared rear fenders. Did you get the car like that ? The original 3 Dodge Chargers S/FX cars had fenders radiused kinda like that. They had push botton trannies, located on the left of the steering column, and predominanlty red interiors. The number 1 Charger driven by Jim Johnson (I call him dad because he is) was wrecked in 65 while running as a Guzler Charger, #2 Charger is restored, the one driven by Jimmy Nix (RIP) - but there was a 3rd one built, and no one can find it. It had bumpers. The cars were 64 Dodge 330s. I'm curious if that black beauty you got is a 330 or a 440. And since this is 2012, did you run it ?

That's an awesome car. Everything about the Dodge Chargers were right in my book.

This car is a 64 440. I believe Andy can track the history on this car back pretty far. I'm pretty sure it has remained local most of its life.

I stopped over to see our friend Phil who is putting the motor together for Andy. It is coming along nicely. We tested the Mag and it throws a good spark.

The valve covers don't clear the rockers, so I might just stack some gaskets. We need some new Joe Hunt wires, water pump spacers, fuel logs, a balancer and linkage too.

    Here's some shots.
