I am most likely a week away from buying a 1964 Ford Galaxy convertible from a guy nearby. 352ci/3sp Cruise-o-matic/9inch. Body is very nice, car is 100% original, very minor rust in the trim before the rear quarters. Top is screwed and hasnt been put down in years. Engine compartment is detailed very well. It runs and drives fine. I like the shape of the car and have a vision of how it's gonna look. Any opinions on the car or experiences with the FE motors would help out as well as any pics of 64 convertibles rodded. Thx.

After I dumped the rearend out of her we got a used ring and pinion set for free out of a mid 70's LTD. Think we figured out they were around a 2.72:1 ratio. She'd run 100+ in second and still had enough of the line to put your n**s in the trunk. This also helped get an average of around 16 mpg. Anyway loved the car. Wound up totaling it in Houston rearending a Honda CRX. Sucker decided the middle lane of Interstate 45, just beyond the crest of a hill was a good place to sleep of a drunk spell at 3am. By the time I saw him it was all over but the crying, which lasted a while if I remember correctly.
That green car is just too sweet! That is the nicest 64' Ford that I have ever seen. Who owns it? Someone on here? Well back to the car - first things first it's a ragtop - not the best choice for a kustom. My advice - take a good look at that green car above. Stick to that look and you can't go wrong...
This one a friend of mine built in the US, then took home to sweden, i think it´s almost perfect! Sold now i think!
And while i was looking for thoose pics i also found these of Fredrik Westergrens -64, also sold now i think!
Thanks for the replies. The gold one is brilliant. I'm keeping up the price battle, but it looks like it'll end up mine eventually regardless. I even cleaned out the garage in anticipation. I feel bad talking to the guy about my intentions, he is a FoMoCo purist and keeps referring to how he has painstakingly kept his three Galaxies 100% original etc. I cant wait to airbag it and throw som freaky paint on it.... Any more cool examples of the convertible out there? Keep them coming.
Heres mine sitting in pops front yard before I totaled it, Damn I miss that car. Hope you get the rag top. TG
