I’m in a pickle. My buddy got this linkage set for what’s suppose to be 3 on the tree. Seller labeled them as “64 LeMans, Tempest, Chevelle A Body 3spd Manual Column Shift Linkage”. Trouble is why so much hardware? I will be contacting seller in the morning but in the mean time. Those of you out there with access to pdf manuals. Could you please look up both. 64 LeMans along with 64 Chevelle 3 on the tree diagrams and post it please.

Here is everything I have before me. I have to wonder if this a floor shift 3spd with a reverse lock out of sorts to the column.
Thank you ahead of time. 90388B0D-768F-498C-A37F-944348CFFF48.jpeg

I believe the reverse lock out to the column didn't happen until '69. That's when GM put the key on the column. The rational was to have to put the car in reverse to get the key out and lock the steering also.

Thank very much. It helped a lot. I****umed the adjusters were at the top rather than below. Things made more since playing around on the bench. Still to many part’s but hey, it’s start.

A further up date to what I’ve just said but I have to attend to my Father in-law and don’t have time to type all that needs to be said.

Every three speed column shift Chevy I ever owned got a Muncie 4 speed swap.
To me, that would be the best way to deal with all that "monkey motion"!

True Denny. But the funds are not there for any sort of swap manual or auto. My friend got over his head buying a lesser dollar 65 El Camino against many of our/his friends. Now he’s backed himself into a corner. The Elco has a cheesy floor shifter (I may have mentioned that all ready) so it’s drivable able. Not the end of the world as for driving it. Good thing is that it has either the large Muncie 3 speed or the Saginaw.

I’ll have to get back with up date later. My friend has been texting my with hopes of granger as I was feeding my Father in-law and I’m not in the mood at the moment to talk further about. Heading into the garage to work on the 32 instead.
