'65 327 Vette Balancer Question

    If you're still wondering whether or not all HP 327's have a bolt, I just checked my virgin '65 L-79, and it does not. The crank is tapped, but never had a bolt. It has the 8" finned balancer, deep groove single belt pulley, no idler. Date code on the block is B-6-5

    Curious. I thought all of the higher horse 327's had the double-groove crank pulley with the idler.

    That's essentially the factory method for the early small blocks.
    A hammer, but with a little more secure driver.

    I think the bolt/puller is a much better method, and locks the hub, the timing gear and cranks snout better too.
