Hey folks I'm looking for more information on the car pictured here. I have a '65 myself, and want to build something true to the A/FX cars of the era. Does anyone know where I can find more information on this particular car or maybe some more pics of it? Thanks in advance!
The last two years this car ran at the meltdown drags. Check out the event coverage for more pictures. Sorry I don't know who owns it.
with all of the info here, and at sites like 65afx.com&65sfx.com, what is super special about the one you are looking for?
Pete Haldiman's book on the 65 AWB cars was a big help when I built mine. Jim Schild's 65 AFX book that came out later on is very good too. the 65 technical bulletin (easily found online) gives good insight as well. With these resources you should have all the info you need.
He's from mid Michigan, can't remember his name but I believe he works at the Autovalue in Remus,Mi. Try calling there.
Here is the Chrysler build info for a/fx cars: http://www.moparmax.com/features/2006/images/05-report/report.pdf
Not sure it'll be ready by then. It's gonna be a long drawn out affair as I'm very particular to detail.
Thanks a million. Here are some pics of the car I'm going to be working with. I purchased it in '96 from the original owners granddaughter. It was driven locally in a nearby small town until 1986. Yes it is a satellite. Is very complete including trim not seen in photos. Black bucket seat console interior. And for those wondering no it never made it past what the odometer reads. 65,276. I've been sitting on this one for too long.
The body on this car is damn near perfect. They parked it under a carport and didn't want to sell, but persistence pays!
