Hi, My name is Teresa and we live in Portland, Oregon. I was referred to you folks by one of your other members. He said I would find a lot of guys in the know here. Many years ago, dad had brought home this car for he and I to rebuild. Well, he got sick and then passed on. This is not a project I am willing to do without his guidance or me being 20 years younger! I am trying to find a reliable or reputable technician/mechanic that can rebuild the engine and transmission. The fly still turns, I do check that periodically. I need to get this done soon, my mother is not doing so well and she would love to be able to ride in this car before she goes to meet dad. I also sent a request to our local corvair club, no response; an email to Corvair Society of America and Corvair Underground (which is located a few miles from us.) Any help, ideas, suggestions welcome. Thank you in advance for any help any of you can provide, Teresa
Teresa, Welcome to the H.A.M.B. First were do you live? I know someone here will be glad to help you. I'm sorry that you and your dad never got to finish your project. Corvairs are very cool cars. Keep us posted, and you may want to ask your questions on the main thread, as they are not seen to much here. Ron...
Portland is a long way away from me. I saw you on the corvair forum, no one over there was able to help you or point you in a direction? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I hope some one comes forward, at the least a lead to a good Mech. in that area. Its a good thing you are doing and I hope every thing works out for you. As stated before post it on the main board. Good luck.
