You guys notice he has the training motor in there. We are going to let him walk before he runs [emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
He plans to drive this one on the street also . They don’t recommend it with the Jerico. Plus the gold motor has to lumpy of pistons for cheap gas [emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
I do have to add if anyone needs a wiring harness. We highly recommend Rebel Wire! They have nice stuff, very helpful. American made. And we are proud to say they are sponsoring the SEG ranchero. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.

Are you coming to Knoxville? Making my SEGA debut there if I don't tear it up testing . You have built a fine looking little truck.
Got caught up with finishing the car and didn’t finish this thread. We took the car to Great Lakes with the stock motor and I got the hang of the car. Shortly after we put the 347 and Jerico in and made some passes at the Glory Days race in Byron. After that we upgraded the carbs to 660 cfm Holley’s and made my first Sega race at Lyons, Indiana. The car worked great and my driving has gotten better with every pass. We’ve cut some weight, and made a test and tune in preparation for the Sega race in Knoxville, Tennessee. If you’re in the area and can make the race stop by and see me and all the other cars it’ll be a good time! Here’s a few pictures from the races we’ve made. Also check out my Facebook page for more frequent updates: https://www.facebook.com/SEGA-Colby-Welchs-Moonbeam-1965-Ranchero-103115487709267/ And a special thanks to everyone who has helped me throughout the build and supported us! Colby, the Moonbeam is looking Fine. That Ranchero should be an inspiration to both young and old that you really can Live your Dream! Great Work and I can't wait to see it in Color. All the Best, Carp.
Good to meet you in Knoxville. You guys did a great job. I never got out of the first round of qualifying. Broke the crank.
Sorry to hear that.Good luck on getting it thrown back together and I look forward to seeing you next year! Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
We tried to line them up at the glory days race and pulled up to the line and his started puking water so he couldn’t make a pass and then the track closed. At that time we were running close times but currently I’m a little bit faster in the 1/8th. It’ll have to happen some day.[emoji1] Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
At the 9th stop of the Southeast Gassers Association season at Knoxville I ended up making it to the semifinals in the B Gas class. That was our last race of the year and we have already got started on upgrading and revising the car. The plan is to raise the cubic inch of the engine and also upgrade to a better flowing head and intake combination with higher compression and a more aggressive cam. Also changing to a lower rearend gear. We are in search of a dedicated sponsor to help out along the process which would benefit your business by gaining exposure on the hauler and the car as these upgrades will bring us into the winners circle and coverage of many different magazines and online articles. Spread the word and also thank you to everyone for the support. To contact me text or call (309) 313-5648. I would be happy to answer any questions about advertising opportunities with my car and also the Southeast Gassers Association. Here’s a few photos from the Knoxville race. Here’s a promo video I put together. Check it out or share it with a business that might be interested. I’ll keep y’all updated when we get some color on the car and what I end up doing with the engine. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
