No Chuck, you're not the only one. But sometimes we talk ourselves into it, and then regret it later! Give it some time to get used to it, and enjoy it. Then if you still miss building a car you can sell it and build something else. My only problem with selling it would be finding something as cool to start with, and not having a car while you're building the next one!
I solved the problem when I finished my Mustang in 2010 and filled the gap by building a hardtail bobber before starting on my truck in late 2011..... Can build a bike in a small corner, do it over the winter, ride it for a summer, and sell it.... Keep it for awhile, put some back seats in it (I looked at a '63 Galaxie lightweight a few years back that used those fold-down boat seats in it)...and take the family with.... Tom
Fellas - Old Cob is the new happy owner of this gasser. I am stoked. Chuck is very fab / mechanically talented and with this build documented over the last plus year and all the details really sold me and when he decided to sell it - I had to have it. I'll do some finishing of the interior but mechanically EVERYTHING is new. EVERYTHING. Damn - did I say I was stoked ? Is the rear view picture bitchin or what ? Thanks Chuck
WOW, congrats! I've followed this build from the start and the work performed is top notch! Great car! I'm sure you'll love it for years to come.
Congrats you got a hell of a car! Sad to see this thread end...if you post your updates in a thread post a link here. Plumbid....So what's gonna be your next build? Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Yep = Aluminum door panels - roll bar - tinted plexi glass planned. May massage some fenders - may - or say the hell with it. Mechanically - needs nothing - nothing. Thanks chuck ! Chuck is on the hunt......
Well, some are built to keep and some are built to sell and start another. I totally understand it. So Plumbid, I hear your next project might be an AMC Pacer gasser type. Is that true?
I never posted on this thread, but have been following it for a while. I was shocked to see it sold, but when everyone's happy, how can you argue? I'll still be looking for updates corncobcoupe.
Sad, but I understand. The build is always the best part for me, but I end up falling in love with them, and can't sell.
Drove around Saturday to get use to it and took some more pics. Had a blast - going the speed limit was even exciting ! Aluminum interior door panels are next.
It is a shame that this post was deleted, looks like there was a lot of good info that will be lost forever. Especially for someone like me that has a 37 Ply and doing a gasser build.
Why the hell would you delete everything ? This was a good thread on a type of car that doesn't get hot rodded a lot.
If anyone who is listening (reading) could replace the posts, that would be very nice, there were some very good tips in here that I hadn't written down (because they were in the thread that I had saved...)
There is only one caption appropriate for the "rear view"....Do these tires make my butt look fat? Butch/56sedandelivery.
