Sorry the 8-71 is 1 inch longer then the 6-71.

  3. Well this 871 sure looks like it has it all to the front .
Short snout, mount bolts to case end ...

Thats the way the one that I have is the plate to extend the housing for the longer rotors is on the front of the blower.

I looked at just Weiand blowers. From the 6 to the 8 they did extend the case length in the front. Here is pictures of 6-71 and 8-71.

  6. The 871 case is longer it should be 16" +/- a hair.
The plate is not an extender of the case it is a bearing plate and should be the same plate for most blowers like this. Unless you have 2 distinct plates between the case and the drive .

31Vicky are you getting ready to change blowers? Would you like to see the blower I run ? it's a Dankas super blower.

Well **** I guess I better take a closer look friday. Man I need to get all my eggs in one basket.

  9. Well I'm having fitment troubles.
It's the manifold that I have, a weiand manifold similar to a typhoon but apparently much different. Some static says it may be for a 301 Polly some say its for a chrysler hemi with Howard's chain drive. It mounts the 671 1.25" too far back. It's crowding the distributor in the rear and crowding the water pump in the front. Move the blower forward and all is well. A prune job on the rear plate solves the problem back there. But leaves problems up front.

So if the 871 is 1" longer in the front and gets a pruned rear plate - well that's pretty close to where I need to be . Just another option that might work ,

I could make an adapter plate.

Can I see a picture of the set up you have? They make different length drive snouts and pulley spacers for top and bottom pullys. I have a unmachined Hot Heads 392 blower manifold. You can mount the blower where ever you want. You need a back bearing plate like this one.

Your Weiand intake is shifted back. You are missing one blower bolt hole. The Weiand Typhoon intake looks to me is forward about 1/2 to 5/8 . For the belt ,you can just make spacers to aline all pulleys. The bearing plate is doweled on so you can take it off with no problems. The bearing plate you have can be machined off. The back plate will not be used. Make or buy a bearing retainer plate. Look at these pictures.
