These engines used a cast iron intake/Rochester carb combination whereas the earlier version had the iconic "Winters" aluminum intake/Holley carb combo, which were rated at 350 hp. I had a 1968 Nova SS. I bought it from a relative who was the original owner in 1978. Maroon with a black vinyl top. Ansen aluminum slot wheels, 350 with a M21 trans and 12 bolt Posi with 4:11 gears, and Mr. Gasket slapper type traction bars. It would run 12.9 all day long back in the day when that was pretty quick, and it never broke. It was a great car. I have many pics of the car, but my ex is holding all my old photos hostage for the last 17 years.
