6th anual KING OF CLUBS car show and drags

Gentlemen ,start your wrenching. July 10 is date for this years drag race and car show. This year there is free camping friday and saturday ( no open fires or hook ups) Gates open friday at 3pm, so come early and pick a good pit area and barbeque and have fun. Also this year we have all the lanes to ourselves,so there will be less waiting between heats. I was able to get a discont for racing. It is 40 dlls and includes admision. General admision is 15 dlls per person, This year Rat City Riot, DeadBolt , Screaming Yee Haus, Rip Carson and the Pioneers are the bands that are playing. The Caberleque Kittens are the Burlesque Troop, and my good friend Axle will be the DJ again this year. Come watch the car clubs battle it out on the track, there are three race clases, flathead, (king of Clubs ) which is your registered , daily driver club car (naturally assperated) and El Mas Chingon ( full race), so get your hot rod ready and come represent your club. For those who ar'ent in a club , there is grudge racing. Well I am off to Vegas, we will be organizing a friday night party and pot luck barbeque for the show. Gates open at 3pm. friday July 9th.

Well I picked up a couple of bands for the friday night party, there will be alot of new clubs comming this year, I talked it up a storm at Viva. more compitition for the cat killers, their are more gassers comming after Dale and I talked some flathead guys into bringing their cars to race the Bean Bandits

Let's get more clubs racing this year, for those who are not in a club, there is grudge racing for most of the day. We need more flathead cars out there, they can be 6 and 4 bangers too. I have seen some torquey 6 bangers kick ass, let's get them out there.

This years KoC lands on George's Birthday.. Maybe we can all get together and sing happy birthday as he runs his 56 Ford pickup down the dragstrip!

Here is a bump for the night crew.........I will be driving out from Colorado for the show if anyone wants to caravan along the I-70 or I-15.

Bring your car, BBQ , beer and enjoy or you will be missing the best show in San Diego.

Oh, and BTW Deadbolt kicked ASS last year and this year should be even better.

I will be setting out two big tables, and my 6 foot barbeque for the friday night party. I am bringing plenty of carne asada. lets get a buffet going, I will gladly cook anything for the other clubs. If any bands want to jam on friday evening, your wellcome. Man , looks like we are going to be hung over for the show .

Thanks for pics Justin, ya ! nothing better than wheel standing gasser wars. Hey Dale, Butch just did a bunch of work on his car, I guess he's ready for you, this is going to be fun. I heard that Marky is bringing the purple people eater again, and squeek bell might bring his sedan. The Bean Bandits just restored Joaquin 's original rail , Dan called me and said they are planning to bring it out. I cant wait to see that thing go down the track. The Cat Killers are ready to defend their title too. I love dragracing, but it's even better when you are watching your friends race each other.

 

Hey Miguel, will they have still have test and tune runs on Friday night like last year.

 

I have a few folders of last years coverages and its a real kool event, the location kicks ass!
I'll be there this year just for Deadbolt! Those guys are insane, and the music even better!

There is no test and tune on friday, but alot of car clubs will be barb-quing and having a good time at the track friday evening. everyone is wellcome, gate opens at 3 p. m. friday July 9th, bring your camping gear.

 

I pick up two bands and a d.j. for the friday night party, we are adding a new race class for the show, we have several bike clubs that are showing up to race their bikes , they are mostly triumphs , bsa, nortans ect. so will be making another trophy for fastest club bike.

 

I have to ask, is there a year limit on the bike class?

Here ya go Miguel, just to get the juices flowin...These were 2 different passes, hard launch on both. The Devils' Grocery Getter is in fresh paint, so it's gonna be quicker, right..? At least now I won't be embarrassed to line up next to Butch's creampuff!

I plan on being there with my '57 Chevy gasser, "Thumper".

 

For the bike class, has to be american or british, nothing gay, no croch rockets, still working on the year limit.
