Dumb question probably - but I have a 6 volt siren that I would like to put in a 12 volt car, no lighting involved. Can I just wire it in or do I need to do something?

  3. I'm not sure the siren cares about the voltage but I do know a local hot rodder got a hefty fine for using one. HRP

  4. A siren uses what is essentially a starter motor. Using a 6v motor on 12v will make that sucker spin exactly like a sewing machine plugged into 220v.
While 6v starters will live on 12v, sirens are different. Have the motor rewound.
