I’d like to keep the 6 volt system on my 8BA. The engine is freshly rebuilt as are the generator and starter. I’m planning on running two 97s and would like a 6 volt mechanical advance distributor. I have a couple of Mallory dual point distributors off a SBC, and can do the machine work for the.8BA application. But is it possible to convert them to 6 volt? If so, what parts are needed? Different coil, condenser, etc.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I’ve never gone from 12 to 6, but when going 6 to 12, I just changed the coil, used a ballast resistor and used the same condenser that was used for 6 volts. if you think of the condenser as a capacitor, you’ll never find a 12 volt or 6 volt capacitor, 50, 100 etc volts.
