Technical 6x2 94's set up

    I've read all the threads on people's opinion on setting up these carbs. A lot seems to be dead ends etc. What I'm looking for is people actually running 6 94's straight linkage on how they are set up. I know jetting etc is irrelevant engine to engine but let's hear how yours is set up. Thanks,
    My particular setup will be 425ci edelbrock logs and Holley 94's

    The biggest concern is the fuel enrichment circuit in the Holley 94's. Unlike the mechanical circuit used in Stromberg's, Holley uses engine vacuum (power valve design) for enrichment. While this works fine for a single carburetor application, it can be problematic for multiple carburetor setups. Others may know about this than I do but it is my understanding that you will need to alter the enrichment circuits (possibly by blocking some off and changing the vacuum required to operate the others) in order to run Holley 94's in a multiple setup. Charlie Price at Vintage Speed has the parts (and others may as well).

    1927graham can you give a run down on what you did to yours? Idle circuits, power valves blocked etc? Thanks

  7. I see no reason why you cannot run the 6 carbs on a 425 engine. However, there are no "rules" for this setup and idle circuit modifications, power valve usage and tip in problems all have to be worked out on a running engine. Since the carbs are very small their idle circuit is very restrictive and will work in your favor. Sealing the throttle shafts is necessary to achieve a smooth idle. I have all the parts and matched carbs for a 6x2 setup for a 472 Caddy (future project) but plan on using progressive linkage with the two center as primaries. If necessary the progressive linkage can be adjusted to run all 6 at one time
    . Power valve use depends on the vacuum signal and vacuum drop when the 6 carbs open. I would try 2.5 PV in all carbs and see how the engine responds on acceleration. Its a lot of work to replace the PV's on a multi-carb set up. One trick I found works is to use a hex bolt in place of the one bottom screw that faces down. It saves removing the carbs and messing with the linkage.
