You could always use this item from O'Brien Truckers made for a 4-71 blower.

PM me or e-mail me at obt@charter.net for more information and pricing.

Where can I find scoops like this for 94s? Those are 94s, right?

    Nope they're 97s

94s have the fuel inlet in the carb top.

97s have the fuel inlet in the body of the carb. Just check the fuel inlet to tell them apart.

I don't know who makes the pointed scoops.

Is the carb. top on a 94 and a 97 different sizes where the scoop will bolt?

  8. Thanks, that makes it easy to spot.

  9. If you're asking what I think you're asking, yes the 97's and 94's (and 48's and most Rochesters) have 2 5/8" carb necks.

You can get those teardrop shaped scoops from CW Moss or SO-Cal. But Moss is less expensive.

Great thread. Probably the most popular 6x2 set up for the Sbc is the Edelbrock X-1 cross ram. I know that is what I originally wanted but could either not find or when they did come up I did not have the extra money.. so I settled. Now for the most rare (that I have seen) is the Edelbrock removal top crossram 6x2. I have drooled over this one for awhile, almost bought it once but my common sense guy (on my left shoulder) won out

Mine set up (and if I may say so, nicely detailed)

beatnik shows you a nice picture of a 3924 for three bolt carbs. They also come drilled for 4 bolt carbs. I'm currently putting one together with six holley 94s for my 377 chevy. It a good manifold and has good balance tubes. The one downfall is that without carb spacers, the low profile requires all the carb linkage arms to point up - and any progressive linkage that I've seen has a very hard push to it due to no mechanical advantage. So, I'm running mine straight up and starting with the two center carbs blocked off. And if anyone said that running 4 or 6 carbs is easy - well they lied. Well worth it, but it is a lot of work. In your case, I'd also look at your cfm needs. The typical 3 bolt carb flows 150-170 cfm each. If you really are building a monster small block, and if you want progressive linkage, you may be better off with a 4 bolt manifold and a six pack of Rochesters. Just my thoughts.

Jimmy Shine made that set-up...............He made the bronze looking pieces out of wood, then had them cast, then machined them..........works great, Littleman

Here is my 6x2 setup. I am running an offy intake with 6 94s... All of the work, there are no block off plates there boys. Its running most of the time on the center two then goes to the back set then the front pair open. All of the lines are hand bent.

The linkage is an eelco, that has been modified to work. I am using the original spoon type pedal with it all. Also I have working chokes not to many guys have chokes. The reason for the chokes is because the motor itself does not like running cold. I guess that comes from it being a ex-blower motor.

I run on the street and have no problems, it just works. When you want to open all 6 carbs you know it. And when you do look out becuase she is pulling like a south bound frieght. If you want anymore technical questions, let me know I will be more then happy to answer them.

Any idea how this set up ran on the street? The linkage is Awesome, but I'm also curious as to how it runs.

Any comments either Dave or the owner Todd?

From what I was told, Todd's 327 was tuned on the dyno, and whom ever built the carbs and tuned it..............is righteous and did a great job, that small block is brutal...............What little I rode in the car, it did great and was fun to ride in..............you just have to hang on...........but Todd knows way more about the car than I..........Littleman

Here are two of our cars - the 4x2 on the flathead run straight-on; as will the 8x2 on the hemi...it just takes a little patience :D

Sorry to go off on a tangent here... but what are you going to do for water provisions with the Hemi and the 8x2 offy? Looks like a 331, but hard to tell with the shadow over the front of the heads. Didn't see any water ports out the front.

They are from speedway and have no markings. I think they are very close to offenhauser's. Hope this helps.

It is a late '55 331 - so it has the water ports on the front of the heads. We are going to use a standard 354/392 water cross-over. Very little room for even a Chevy waterpump - so it will probably end up being electric...
