I have a 7 digit plymouth Vin #. (1929) All numbers no letters I'd like to decode the numbers to get more info on the car anyone have a good reference I been searching online with 0 luck so far
If you have an approximate age of the car, that would be a big help. But I found this on the internet with a few seconds of searching...
If your serial number is 15xxxxx then maybe it's really a 1930? Or if it's 9xxxxxx it might be Canadian? adding your location to your HAMB member profile will show us where you are, so we don't have to guess.
The page Jim posted with the numbers, looks like what’s in Motors manuals. Notice it will only let you know minimal information about the engine that was originally in it. It won’t tell you about things that VINs can in the latter years like color, etc. So in reality and it being a hotrod, it shouldn’t really matter (imo).
You can get a build card from Chrysler after about 1929-30. But it probably won't do much good as already said.
Is that still a “thing”? I recall a foundation years back, but thought I read something happened and the records were lost?
