We are re-doing my first car (70 Camaro) for my daughter's first car. I am wanting to replace the front subframe because it was bent at one time and kind of half-*** repaired. Are all 70-81 Camaro/Firebird front subframes identical? Are the aftermarket subfames worth the $4-8K?

    Thanks!

not really the board for it, but you should be able to use any of them, some are better than others as far as sway bars and such. the aftermarket stuff looks good, I'd say if you are after really good handling they're probably worth it...

  4. I've learned in the past when the Sub Frame is bent it's the second piece to fold up after impact. First thing to do is get the body on a Frame rack and straiten the floor pan and Frame mounts. Without doing that it will still be a Half *** repair.

The front frame horns are much different after 72. It would be near impossible to intall the stock bumper without modifing them.

So, an 81 sub will fit a 70 body, but you have to use the 81 nose to fit the sub.
