I am looking for a reccomendation on where to get a 700 r4 transmission? I don't really have the time or knowledge to rebuild my own. Although I would like to try.

  2. I got mine from monster trans all set up for my 450+ hp Hemi for about $ 1700

Not really an answer to your question, but you might do yourself a favor and look into a T-200-4R instead. Better gear ratios, smaller, lighter, just as strong.
One place to get one of these is - Art Carr Transmissions (in SoCal). I've got one of their T-200-'S

There are many other places to go beside Art Carr. The internet is your friend.

These guys have built the automatics in both of my last two cars . Both cars dynoed at well over 500 hp. One trans was a C6 the other (current) a 700R4 which is in my 61 Fairlane.

pretty sure this is a blown small block application...I'd be looking for a different transmission, if it were me. Or learn how to do it yourself, so you only have to pay for parts over and over again, not parts and labor.

Squirrel is correct it's a blown small block. 2500 lb 3:90 gear 30 inch tire.i ran it for 78 miles really liked the low 1st, just about rips your head off. Maybe I should go with a 350 or 400. I don't want to be taking it apart all the time

  9. I have not read the entire thread but for an GM AOD I agree with the Joker here. You simply cannot beat phoenix transmission.
