Hoping for some advice, I have a 700R4 trans in my Model A but it seems to have an issue with leaking where the dipstick goes in the trans. The one I have installed now just pushes in and has 2 o-rings for seals. I can't seem to get rid of the leak and puddle under the car. The one I have was not the most expensive so was hoping it would work but not as well as I was hoping for! Are there any recommendations for what would be a good one to try? It is flexible and mounted on the firewall if that is of any help It was just installed last year and was hoping for better Thanks for any help, Kerwin
I’m pretty sure the stock one has a grommet in the case. No o rings. I would try to find a stock tube and grommet and modify it if necessary to fit. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
The 700r and 4l60 both use same grommet.. As said above get a STOCK tube and stick with proper top hat as it is called and be done. Pioneer part #760014
It would be best to have it mounted to the engine or transmission. The flex will be pulling on the tube. I have seen those braded house leak at the fitting, I replace with a factory one and modify as needed.
$3.49 at NAPA for the stock tune (wow, that’s a long URL!). https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/NDP...C6VEtK6LMnmmdjoPJxIgu-Zkg7DyUvRoCZ1kQAvD_BwE& John
I put some rtv on the bottom of hex part of the flex tube. Where it stops at the top of the trans. That has stopped my leak. Jim
