I just installed a 700r4 in my 63 Chevy II. I am having some problems with the TCC.

Here is a diagram and a picture (several pics collaged together)of what found when I dropped my trans pan:

Normally, I believe that PIN A is 12 volts, and PIN D is ground.

Is this still the case in my situation, based on the diagram of my wiring? what should be hooked to what?

Page 2 of this pdf talks about the 'click test' to test the solenoid:

as does post #4 on this thread:
    http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/700r4-lockup-confusion-140555.html

    If I attach 12 volts to pin A, I don't get a click. If I connect 12 volts to pin D, I do get a click.

However, the fuse gets blown when flipping the switch when the car is driving. It doesn't matter if 12v is connected to Pin A or Pin D. Could the solenoid be bad?

After all of this I tend to agree in full!

There's a lot of technical info on bowtieoverdrives with regard to the TV cable. There's also some lock up info that I'm sure will agree with "onlychevrolets" knowledge as well. Like you said squirrel, not rocket science. Unless it's an Olds:rolleyes:

Dont waste your money on an expensive kit from one of the big names. They charge sometimes in excess of 100.00 for the kits. I use one off of fleabay. Just search 700rk lockup kit. They run under 20 bucks, come with everything you need and installation is about 20 minutes including taking the pan off, wiring, cleaning and reinstallation.

Its a breeze and cheap, run a 12V + wire to the new connector (included) and your good to go, locks up after 4th gear engages, unlocks when you slow down and it downshifts. Towing in drive? Stays unlocked and works perfectly.
