As others have said, this is not a kickdown cable, but a TV cable. Throttle valve cable. As an old automatic trans rebuilding man, I would guess that you have toasted this unit. It doesn't take very many miles to burn up a 700R4, or a Ford AOD with the TV cable either unhooked or not adjusted properly. Some will try and tell you to adjust them by shift feel, however the proper way is with a pressure gauge hooked up to the transmission. Good luck
