700R4 Trans - Where to buy in Southrn Cali

Hey guys,

Think the 700r4 that was donated to me is TOAST! I'd like to find a place to get a decent trans at a decent price in the southern cali area? I've looked at BowTieOverdrives and they start at 900 bucks.

It'll be for my 54 chevy with a mild 327.

How about having a tranny shop go through it and see how much on a re-build 1st. It may be cheaper than a new one. Maybe? KNUX!

They rebuilt the trans in my Shoebox (C-6), and 2 brother's Camaros (TH350 & 200R-4).

But if you got the F-you money the BTOverdrive stuff is top notch, maybe too top notch for a mild small block.

Never had to buy a trans so im outta touch when it comes to prices... Whats a avrage cost for a 700r4 going for these days?

 

about 300-400 at junkyards here in houston.

 

Is your 700 beyond repair?

Look in the back of any hot rod mag there are 1,000 different vendors with tranny packages.
