i recently picked up a 1970 ford f-100 ranger. i was looking for some ideas,or pictures to help me out with what direction to go with it. it is a solid truck for a ohio truck, so i do not plan on any body work or paint any time soon. i am stuck on what to do, i was planning on a updated air suspension, and lay it to the rockers on the ground with some steel wheels and fat white walls. latley i have thought about static drop and skinny white walls or red line tires.maybe some wheels, like cragor ss wheels or torque thrust. any ideas would be great.
Hmmm ... if it were my truck ... I'd definitely go for the bags, plus a nice kandy or metal flake paint job, with Torq Thrusts and redlines. That's my 2 cents.
i know, i know TRADITIONAL, but they showed redline 255/45 18 at sema and they are available from discount tire. if you could find a good rim that has an old school feel, that would look *****in with the rockers on the ground matt
18 inch wheels aint "70's" kustom, they werent even around then.{'cept on semi's and motorhomes}BUT,slammin it on the ground would be way cool! IF it was my truck,{look out, its gonna get nuts}I would graft on the front 4" from a '66 ford full size sedan for that over/under headlight look.Grill and all,and the front 4' of the hood as well just below the stock truck hood. I think about six inches off the top is a good chop. welding the tailgate shut and filling the space in the center of the tailgate with 67-68 Merc Cougar SEQUENTIAL turn signals on both sides of the license plate. Dump the exhaust through holes in the chromed step bumper or a rolled rear pan whith little nerf bars . A hard bed cover with rolled and pleated covering hide the compressors and air tanks for the air ride suspenders. Color choices are straight up yours alone 'cause I'm kind of color blind to all those seventies "earth tones". They all look like different shades of cahcah to me. A little more than .02 cents worth, but thats my nickle opinion. R.R.
