Funny, I’ve been reading issues of 1001 Custom and Rod Ideas from the mid ‘70s each night and it occurred to me that I was not only out of touch with the muscle car craze but I was also out of step with the early iron guys back then. Stock bodies, stock 283 or 307 small blocks with a Powerglide, Jag rear ends, and chrome wire wheels were all the rage. Wind wings, cowl lights, ahoogah horns, step plates, grille guards, oh yeah. My ‘32 was totally out of step with a chopped top, no fenders, a big block Chevy and Halibrands. I finally got with the program a few years ago…. It’s got the wires, step plates, cowl lights, wind wings, everything. Magazine ready! But not for long….. bye, bye ‘70s. Didn’t get around to chopping the top though. I’m hopeless.
