Thanks for your shots. Like the others. I look forward to them. There are always neat & unique cars in the works in Japan it seams! FONZI
Im wondering exactly what model this is.. my guess is a 38 lincoln, but Im really not sure. also has the chop been slid forward a ft or so ? such beautiful curves on this. If anyone has any info on this car I would love to hear about it.
I'm pretty sure the car is a plymouth, I'm guessing 1940. The top of the grille and the Vee shaped chrome that dips down on the grille is 1939 Dodge truck for sure. Pretty impressive how the builder worked that into the design of the car. I would be interested to hear more about this car as well.
I think your right about it being a plymoth but I think its a 39 this photo from carnut.com has it listed as a 39. and judging by that photo the japanese car has the chop pushed pretty far forward.
I've said this before but it bears repeating - The Japanese and the Swedes are conspiring together to make the Rod, custom, and chopper scene in the US look like complete and total SHIT!!! I think the thing I like best about the Japanese scene (and I'm not saying this out of disrespect for our hot rod & custom traditions) is that they are unfettered by tradition and preconcieved notions of what you can & can't do. They do whatever the hell they want, and the resulting creativity is inspiring. The Edsel grill (at least that's what I think it is?) on the model A is genius. Maybe it's already been done here (I haven't memorized the little books like many of you less ignorant folks have) but it's something I don't remember seeing recently. Thanks MAL.
Well said. I love seeing their customs - Familiar style but with a different twist. Very creative! You can definitely see the passion for it in their builds.
Yea, they are some hardcore hotrodders over there, I was wondering where they get all that tin. They must be payin big bucks to get the cars over there. Sounds like a good business idea to me
