Yeah I know I'm asking a loaded question but I've been getting 8 track players popping up on my marketplace and it got me going down a rabbit hole.
I've seen some pretty snazzy looking aftermarket fm/8 track players from the 60s-70s.
Do they still make parts for these? The plugs and wiring don't look like modern car stereos is it pretty easy to figure out?

I have one that is for sale.

  3. If the player units are new, never used they would be okay. Most used ones are usually pretty worn out. I doubt there are any repair parts. Should be simple to wire up, power, ground and speaker r/l
The other problem is the tapes wear out too . I have boxes of tapes but only a few work any more

    Kind of figured.
I'm really just going for the looks and if I can get one with working fm that'll be OK to

I have an Automatic Radio with FM tuner I'd stick in whatever I was going to take on a long trip. Antenna splitter, 12v battery in boat box, couple home speakers in back seat. PM me ...

Had one in my '46 Chevy coupe when I sold it...worked great but hard to hear over the blower whine...

also need to have a couple paper match packs handy to wedge between the player and tape when it begins to slip.
