Hi-I'm trying to finish my jalopy 8BA and have a dual groove crank pulley with no timing mark. I had the front cover off and had the timing marks lined up on the gears.made a mark on the pulley and made another mark for roughly 8 degrees.I borrowed a cast pulley to double check things ,lined up the keyways on the bench and the marks I made weren't close to the little ball mark on the cast gear. I think my buddy said the cast one was off a truck. My dual groove pulley is steel;I misplaced my TDC tool for checking that. Does the little ball on the pulley denote a number of degrees? I know this is all rather backyard,I'm gonna rundown the correct pulley-Any thoughts? Thanks.

If I remember correctly , the Ball on the crank pully/balancer is 4* . I can't remember if it is 4* after or before tdc, but it is not 0

The ball on the pulley is 2 degrees BTDC, same as all late flatheads.
