Anyone out there done this mod and can get me headed in the right direction? I have seen pics from the Revolution event a roadster that has what appears to be a 59A motor or style heads with a crab type fixture mounted up top....intersting and cool.

Mabe this has already been dealt with in the Tech section...but I didn't see anything.....of course "had it been a snake"!

    Appreciate the help.

I too have seen a picture or two with a crab distributor mounted high on another adapter.
I thought i would make the adapter up ( i already have a couple of the old sun machine adapters) to allow me to test some of these units on my chevrolet stand.
Never got er done as the rotations are backwards. The 8ba is a clockwise rotation (gear drive)and the crabs are counterwise ( direct cam drive).
    Wouldnt work.
I do have some crab cap flathead mallory conversion, if its the look you are after......

I'm working to put one of Bubba's Chevy dizzy's on a 59A. Take a look at this catalog and you can get a gear and timing cover that you may use to do this, http://www.tr-designs.com/Images/TRD_Catalog-08.pdf. (Speedway carries these.) Using stock 59A water pumps, it is going to be tight clearing the belt. I think that I will machine off the hold down flange on the dizzy housing shaft and rather than use the regular belt adjustment for a flathead, I will build a belt tensioner to take up the slack. By my early reckoning, this will help the belt clear the shaft housing. We'll see, I guess.
