i got some heads on my 8ba that are factory. They have a strange tag on them that reads f:11. Anyone have any idea what this tag means? I dont have a pic of the top at this moment since my heads are at work getting a bath. Ill post one tomorow but here is the combustion chambers.

Okay from what I have read f11 is the factory number for the pick ups. So i guess these are 8ba truck heads witch makes since theim motor has truck water pumps as well.

8BA heads are passenger, '49-50. The F11 is a typical Ford mystery number that is quite likely just a casting date/shift code(the extra 1 there) so they knew who to blame...
On flathead castings my belief is that the number of such odd little cast in numbers went way up on castings made after production use ended to keep the parts counter stocked.
I have not kept track of what stock heads went on what on these late models, but equivalent truck prefixes would be 7 or 8 RC for pickups/commercials, 7 or 8 RT for trucks.
