Like it a lot. I have a '55 Ford Fairlane 4 door that my parents bought new. My father worked at Ford's Atlanta assembly plant 1952-82.
Label, bag and photograph everything you take off. It all seems so logical when dismantling. It won't be in two years time when re-assembling.
Johnny Gretsch, keep up the good work. i love those things. Kind of wish i had one here in the USA. There pretty cool. You at least on a great site for help and great ideas.
Actually, it is hard to get 'big' money for them here as it takes the right or wrong person to buy them. I had my 53 Ford for sale for awhile, a number of lookers, but no offers not even a low ball are you kidding offers. The CL ad was even copied here and Ford Barn. We were silly enough to go to Aus and spend a month there to find our 50 Chev Ute.
Hi Johnny, just came across your thread/s You've been getting some sound advice. Wish I had your back door spare parts cache. I drive a 55 fordor - just finishing up a 272 to 292 build that's been dragging on. There are a couple of Qld Cusso dealers in Qld eg (Allan Boughen (Captain Cusso) -Traveston - nostalgia drags) (has ads in Just parts) and a top notch metal fabricator/engineer in Vic. Johnny, Love the wheels. It's so great you can think ahead on your project. I always have said the wheels and or covers give the car it's personality. and I like yours. Contact me on my email about the valve covers. customizer2024@netzero.com Walt
Cool.....will be nice when you get it completed. The full wheel covers look good to me. I like the side chrome trim on one car in the group at the farm............is that a 1956 model?
