95 % oil filtering question

    Just converted my 59a block to the 95 percent filtering,my question is.. i am using the m19 oil pump,should i get rid of, block/plug the oil pressure relief if the front of the block now??

    the standard m-19 is fine . i dont alter the stock bypass when i modify for a full flow filter.

    Thanks, Didn`t know i thought the m19 had a pressure relief in it.therefore i didn`t need the orig. one.

    yes it does have a relief in the pump, you COULD plug the block bypass but its not necessary.

    I would recommend you try to find a stronger spring to use in the block bypass to insure that the relief in the oil pump is controlling the oil pressure and not the original bypass in the front of the block. The bypass valve has a flat ground into the tapered nose to supply a metered oil supply to the timing gears so even though it may be closed the gears get a supply of oil. So I wouldn't block it, just increase the spring pressure so it won't override the oil pump by opening too soon and regulating the pressure lower than the pump would.
