The Corvette would be far more sensible, and Cheep isn't up to the trip right now, but I have half a year to get that fixed. No matter where you live, it's a long drive. I found out about it from David Williams, who lives in Florida, so I guess for him it's about as long as could be. For me, not too bad, 2400 miles to NYC, 500 to get back home from socal. David ran one of the Gumball things a few years ago, so he has a little experience with it, he's also been on a few of the drag week type things.
I signed up for the Great American Detour, which is the Cannonball thing, and plan on taking the Corvette for that. It's in the end of June/beginning of July, and it'll be miserable in the Southwest, and maybe other places too, where it's humid. But also this morning I signed up to go on Drag Week with Cheep. I might give in and install a trans brake in it, so I can get it to launch hard and maybe hit 9s with it. I might also see about adding another fuel pump, apparently it's pretty common to zip tie two of them together and drop into the hole in the gas tank.
I’ll be in my recliner watching/reading about it. Some goof ball app Carina did while I was on my phone reading up on the HAMB.
Great American Detour? Is there a website? All I can find is some bicycle thing: The Great American Detour refers to a temporary 960-mile bike route developed by the Rails to Trails Conservancy (RTC) and Adventure Cycling ***ociation to connect the Great American Rail-Trail across the Mountain West,
Red lights happen...but in that case, the clock starts when the beam is broken. So the light turned yellow, .4 seconds later it turned green, .333 seconds later his car moved out of the staging beam. No red light here.
