    Anyone got a spare header/windshield from a Tudor/Fordor/5w they want to part with?...hmmm :)

...or maybe some advice on just how hard this is gonna be to pull off.

I got the idea from this pic I found of a '32 Ranchero someone made out of a sedan...

While it's not a 3 window.......I thought you might like this Model A. I used to own it in stock form. I can visualize it with steelies and wide whites and black or dark maroon. I wouldn't kick it out of my garage the way it sits. Gary

Very cool idea Larry. Are you going to flush fit the doors? I would think you would have to make it work right.

Hadn't thought about that...I like the way the truck doors fit, so hopefully not.
I just want to get rid of the visor and the rectangular windshield frame. I think it looks much better without them.

I know it looks cool in the photo chop but I've seen it in person somewhere in the past and being the deuce bigot that I am I still like the original chopped style highboy with the visor like you showed when you first started your project.

Bad idea. Totally ruins the character of a '32 pickup. And I'd think you'd know all about being a character.

I'd leave well enough alone...you'd be opening another 3w can-o-worm$.

thanks neal...I'm trying to stay away from the high $$$ stuff, but I wanted something different. I don't need to send another body man's kid to college.

before I let you guys finally talk me out of this, could someone photochop this pic and: (1) chop it another couple of inches. (2) shorten the bed up to the rear of the frame horns. (3) eliminate the rear frame horns and the tailpipes altogether. (4) put a hood on it. (5) lower the truck a couple of inches. (6) get rid of the battery hanging down under the frame.

    ...don't want much, do I?

I think it looks good but maybe not as good when compared to the work and cost of a 5w header. I think the visor makes it look a bit meaner on a truck and more like......well a truck!! Now with that being said, I would love to see the end result and for me to eat my words. Get to it!!!!

Ok wait I might take that back because this one looks pretty killer!

I like the first pic the best Larry. To me the proportions are just right. Although the one shown at the indoor car show (silver one) color blind...
    does look good.
The missing visor throws the whole look off.
    Yea..I'm bias.

Oh and dont forget the fenders.. :)

Im kinda a purist on early for bodies, i dont like A's with 32 headsers, etc etc, 32-34 trucks have visors, its just the way they are! but thats just my opinion!

theres definately some cool **** thats been done and they turn out great, i just dont like it!

With the squareness of a pickup bed the rounded roof top looks off to me, I prefer the original roof with a visor.

I really like what NealinCA did, though I'm wondering what a 2" section and a little less chop might look. Just kinda thinking the hood line should be a little closer to the top of the bed (keeping the Ranchero theme). Neat idea Larry. Can't wait to see the progress pics.

I like it. many people wouldn't even notice, and a bunch more would know it looks different but not figure it out. go for it.

  29. the truck might look good with out a bed and as a modified, with the rolling bones front end treatment, qucikchange in the back, sort of like scootermcrads modified...just a thought:confused:
edit... but i think you would have to shorten the wheel base, and move in the read end
