As long as you can do the metal work go for it, saw this on the aaca boards too its a shame they ripped on you on there. It will sure be a labor of love! Hopefully you have that back section under the rear window though if not that would be a tough piece to get ahold of.

i dont know your skill level but yes id like to see it on the road again. its a damn willys.but its alot more than i want to tackle. thats my all time favorite car.but id would have to pass on it. i wont live long enough to get it done right.or even have enough money to spend on it. but i have seen alot worse saved and right here on the hamb. these boys will go after anything and for that i admire them and you if you can save this old girl.me id bought a glass one because i cant see paying that much for a rotted out steel. but thats jkust me. good luck and keep us up to date on her!!

I hope you can save it. What are your build plans? Build an entire new rear half (I recall you had the back half of the body for sale in the classifieds)?

Image 25.jpg I found a back half of a coupe. Not sure if I'll graft it in or use the one I have.

Wow. I thought my car looked tough. This will be awesome!

  18. It's funny how it works in life sometimes isn't it? I suspect when those Willys cars were new, most people thought of them as junk and a "throwaway" car. Look at them now! Yeah, definitely worth saving. Disclaimer: I in no way think of Willys as junk or "throwaway" cars, it's just that at the time they would have been a cheap car to purchase that would have seemed equivalent to our modern day compact cars..... wait a minute, I better start collecting Ford focuses!

More like a collection of sheet metal bits flying in a Willys like configuration.

Of COURSE someone should save it!!

Looks like a 4dr sedan being turned into a coupe? Not really much coupe stuff there. Good luck with it.

Did you buy that car here in Okmulgee? I know a guy that has (had) one that looks just like that. He and a couple of other guys dug it out of a river bank.

Good luck in turning around the old Willy's fate. Way not build something different like a badass hot rod, rather then the cookie cutter Gasser four wheel drive look.
