Really sad to see it blow after all the work you put into it. I wanted to talk to you later at nitro revival but I guess you packed it up and split
Man .. has been spotted in the wild, with his brood. Bitch'n rigs. Super Model photo credit : https://instagram.com/yetirydr_?utm_medium=copy_link
He’s got Hemis stacked up like cord wood and I’m sure that he will hit the track again soon enough. How many guys have you seen bring a Steel Willys Coupe back from the dead and build it period correct and drag race race it? You did a great job @drumyn29
In the meantime the paint has faded into a cool vintage looking patina. Also check out the Engle Cams Jacket that he is wearing.
Casually scrolling this set of pics and caught a glimpse of the lettering on the side of the truck and now it will forever be the Mom Jeans truck.
It’s sounding MEAN, and he did a great job on the Helmet. I’m looking forward to seeing videos of it running down the Drag strip.
So, last week I found a spot nearby to start my car and tune it without pissing off the nieghbors! I soon learned that I snapped of a few of my pushrod tips, so I made calls to Nick smithberg, Higgenson, Gary at Rocker Arms Unlimited and Valley Head Service. I then decided to gamble and try to learn and understand "the why", so I installed larger pushrods tips and my other set of donovan rockers that Gary built to accept the larger tip pushrods. Started up the other day and the same thing happened as well as breaking 2 rocker arms. Today I installed a different set of heads with smaller springs and smaller tip pushrods, I added 30 degrees of timing and it sounds like a RAPED APE! I think I concluded that the rockers were hitting the spring retainers. This experiment cost a few dollars but I learned a lot, It's good day to be alive!! If you skip to 5:40, it's the final tune.
From the sound of that Hemi you might have to change the name of the Coupe to Brutus It’s going to be a white knuckle ride down the drag strip now.
2 sets of heads and finally pulled the engine and replaced it. Ran it at 30 degrees of timing and nothing broke!
Disturbing the peace and laying down some rubber. It sounded like the Hemi noise set off someone’s car alarm.
May I just say that you sir are a modern day folk hero! Letting that thing off the hook in modern day Hollywood takes moxy and youve got that in spaids! Bravo!!! Keep up the good work.
I knew it, he's a good friend of mine. And one of the good guys.Your doing it right. That's the way I remember cars. Course I'm old. LOL
And oil the rockers of course. If I had it to do all over I would put a top end oiler setup on ours. JMO. We ran Titan rockers. Bitchin job bud. Lippy
