OK so I've been gleaning tons of info off this site for years now, hell it's time to start contributing something! The pics should easily tell the story without much commentary on my part.......So here goes......
Have an old flex light to sacrifice to the hot rod gods? IMG_0969.JPG

......then yank the ends off along with the rubber sleeve that covers the ball and socket joints....

.....then slip the flexible ***embly inside a length of pipe insulation. In this case I used some standard residential copper hot water pipe sleeve......

....you have yourself a handy prototyping tool for mocking up exhaust bends, radiator hoses, header fabrication, etc. The joints firmly hold the shape you bend them to. Use different size foam if needed for larger or smaller pipes......in my case I was left with approx a 1 5/8" dia ***embly perfect for mocking up sbc header tubes! :D

neat idea, but you did not have to use the light. the flex tubing is a machine shop coolant line. fairly reasonable, available at most shop supply houses, or McMaster Carr, just ask for Loc-Line hose kit
