Just wandered in the door myself!

This year's party was bigger and wilder than last year's for sure. More cars...more people, and more fun! Saw many familiar HAMB buds and met a few others for the first time. Shot two rolls of film, but probably won't EVER get them back after the comments I wrote on the impromptu envelope I used when I found the film counter at K-mart abandoned...AGAIN! Ha Ha...someone at Qualex is gonna have a chuckle!

Hammer Hank's donuts RULED...and we half expected the S.W.A.T. team to show up when Murray posed for the moped photo! Figured they'd have a rubber sniffing dog on the scene to smell everyone's tires till they found out who did the deed!!! Reckless Driving...for standing in the street with a moped that wasn't even running!

(And I thought cops LIKED 'donuts'??!! [IMG] [IMG])

Thanks to the Deadbeats and everyone involved...this is one of my few "can't miss" events each year...can't wait for the NEXT one!!!

I don't know what these headlights were off of originally but if I still had my tub I'd be looking for a pair.

Some of Ray's (safarinut) handy work. It's the center section of my steering wheel.
    Thanks Ray, outstanding as usual.

I'd like to add my thanks to the DEADBEATS for puttin on such a great show. It certainly was much bigger and better that last year. Just a great time.

  12. That was probably THE best show I've been to. . . ever! Friendly people, excellent cars, and the best shirt I saw all day was "Fuck Trailer Queens". Right on.

I'll post some of my pics when I get home, but man, was it ever good to see the real deal. Nice work by Jeff, Randy, and an excellent rod from little Tony and Rudy's 40.

    Wow.

  14. Found the "Original pancake house" and did not see anything that looked like a traditional car in the lot and there was a bunch of church goers standing in a line outside. They looked at me like I was going to rob them so we went down the street and ate at some Greek restaurant.

Came back and found MANY more cars than what we saw the 1st time! I can't remember everyones name that I met but here are a few that I can, Safari, Barnett, Jdubbya, Denise, Fab32, Hack, Beatnik, HotRod2Hell.

We slipped in real quiet like and left lowprofile too...We wuz beat after driving to Battle Creek Saturday morning, checking out that cruise (2500-3000 cars) and then Detroit in the AM Sunday then Back to Cleveland. It was almost a 700 mile loop.

The HAMB members that I met were as cool as hell and we had a great time. The wife thought since they didn't have paint or fenders they were "half-assed done". I tried to explain it to her but said to hell with it....when I got home I pulled the hinge pins on the passenger door and told her that her side of the car was done!!!! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

I would have liked to met more of you...Where is my red-oxide HAMB t-shirt when ya need one! The pics of the truck with the doors scraping pavement was just way too F'N radical...I talked to him about the radiator in the bed and...well that was the final thing I needed before I did it. The rad hoses hold an extra 3 gallons! That ought to help keep my blower motor cool.

Great Party, cool cars, good people and picked up some cool garage art. I'm going to try to be there next year too!

I nearly forgot this pic of the passenger door of DA-SKUNK.
It looks as if FatHack has gone on the TV show Extreme Makeovers... This may sound pretty gay, but he's looking cute in this picture. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

BTW Donzie, those were headlights from a LaFrance firetruck.

  17. It's Monday and I'm still trying to recuperate from,"THE SHOW"! To say it was a great time would be a large understatement. The turnout was unreal,it was great to see old friends and meet some new ones, and the only fault I could find was one of my own making:I spent too much time painting and not near enough socializing.
To JimE and Jeff and ALL the people who made it happen, all
I can say is THANK YOU!
I'm sorry I didn't get to chat with v8minor,and if I did and didn't realize it I apologize as I still have a little something for you,or all the other people who stopped to say hello.
The food was great although my mixing was a little weird(try a drumstick, bean salad, and cherry dessert all mixed up together sometime)and it looked like everyone had a blast. When Hammerin'Hank did the outrageous donut in the middle of the street,I figured he was just marking a landing spot for the police helicopter, but all we got was cruisers. [IMG]And I wanted to see AIR ACTION! [IMG]
Anyway today is kick back and let the Tylenol#3 do it's magic and thanks again to everyone who made it happen.

Got back to The Mothership a little after 1:30 am.
Barnett was probably still signing autographs at that hour. [IMG]

I'm sure the Police Choppers were warming up,just in case. [IMG]
    Actually,the PD was cool about it;
they could have been real pricks about the whole thing if they really wanted to.

Thanks to Jime,Jeff, and the rest of the Deadbeats for a great event.
    See you guys at Autorama.

Good news, just got an update from Murray regarding his reckless driving 6 point ticket. Moped riding hoodlum Murray spoken with a Royal Oak police officer today, one that is his contact when he has his annual party. The officer was able to contact the ticket writing officer and he's agreeing to drop it to an impeding traffic ticket which is a no point ticket, he just has to pay the fine. Thought you guys might want to know.

Hey! I don't need your help in court. I have twenty seven eight-by-ten colour glossy photographs with circles
and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one explaining what each one is to be used as evidence. Denise took pictures of the approach, the getaway, the northwest corner the southwest corner and that's not to mention the aerial photography. (I don't know how she got those!)

signed, Torch (otherwise know as Murray of the Moped Chopper Renegades) Lock up the women and children, I'm headed to a suburb near you. [IMG]

I don't know about all that, but that was some of the most enthusiastic lettering and striping requests I've ever experienced! [IMG] Good hanging out with you Unkl...we'll spend more time talking and less time painting next year! [IMG] And don't forget AutoRama!
