Hot Rods A Boat-Tail Speedster and a Mustang fender… “say what?!!?”

    I like how a lot of guys use a big bulbous tapered hood when building a boat tail. If you think you might do that, look into 1940s Hudson hoods. They are very deep and pronounced.

    Have you considered using a portion of a boat or a canoe for the boat tail? Aluminum, steel or wood. I've always thought that mixing metal panels with wooden panels would be just fine and fairly interesting, especially on a very old style build such as a speedster.

    I'm sure that last one in the pictures could benefit from the Honest John missile nose cone my buddy Vic & I hauled home when we had a Bonniville dream. We'd planned to use it on the front at first but changed our minds.

    ^^^ six ball has couple interesting engines in back ground of your missile cone. Cat diesel & large looking 6???? Truck stuff?

    That little diesel is a Continental 4 cylinder. Can't recall the model off hand. The six is a 413 ci flathead 6 we pulled from a '54 Dodge truck. It now lives with the Chris King (Montana Dodge Boys) in Montana. The idea was to put in in their big Studebaker based speedster to replace the little 377 ci in it now. I haven't heard anything since it left here but was promised a ride. :rolleyes:

    Wow, & lots of dirt roads to play on. That is motivating!! I would drive that loop all day long but got to slide the corners a bit
