I should have paid more attention when I tore my front cap down. I've been looking over what I need and was wondering if the headlight buckets were a left and right, or if it mattered. Also the front radiator bracket has springs on the center bracket. Do they go below the chassis flange or between. I'm sure this will work itself out while putting it together, but hate redoing things. Looking for a new radiator and the sticky comments quote a 64 mustang radiator as working. Looking on ebay the mustang radiators are a little smaller in width how does that fit or am I missing something. Comments from someone who knows would be helpful.
    Thanks Ralph

It looks like the '57-'58 setup in the right hand view, so I'm****uming the left view is what's on yours. Slightly different hardware, but the basic design looks to serve the same purpose. What I can tell you is the '57's always use the 3 shims..#8126 in the diagram...it is necessary to keep proper tension on the center shoulder bolt and spring. The design is for the height adjustment for the entire front end sheet metal, as that bolt is the only place the front end sheetmetal is attached to the frame. Whether the 3 spacers go above or below the bracket is specific to the sheet metal alignment needed for your car. Some may have one under, two over, others may have 1-3 over, etc.

Well I do have the CD. I scroll thru it a lot, but overlooked the views for the cooling systems. I'm not really sure how I missed it other then a useless index. My center mount for the radiator bracket is nothing like the exploded view. I'll work it out. As far as radiators go, I was under the impression only drilling new mounting holes would be needed, but find it's a little more involved. The mustang radiators are priced very nicely but I would rather pay a little extra and have one that actually fits.

K5 back to the questions about radiators,Baggs took my advice, check out this discussion: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/...tor-in-a-54-who-has-one.901738/#post-10232561 Scroll down to Post #23 He has an extensive Album on file there is almost nothing to do as far as bolting it in,you might want to open a conversation with him for further advice. He is just one of the few that has used the Mustang radiators,BUT you must order the correct core size which I lined out for you.

Finally realized what is different about my car when viewing the CD. My car has a 53 radiator bracket in it not a 54. I guess it's an early 54, at least I know how it goes back together.

I was able to change light buckets from left to right, after the accident, so I guess youle be good on that department.
